Rockwood Karkloof Lodges
This hidden gem with awesome views of the countryside and mountain was absolutely amazing and refreshing! The farm cottage had all the necessary to make our stay a memorable one! The rest is now up to you to experience it!
What a lovely place to stay... The Mountain lodge is remotely positioned, surrounded by beautiful trees and magical views. The lodge is simple but has everything you need for a weekend off the grid. Jabu and Sue went out of their way to make our stay memorable. We will definitely be back
The farm is very well kept, beautiful gardens and great trails. The farm cottage is perfect. I would add whiskey and champagne glasses to the cottage. The farm house looks amazing and would love to go there with my family. For two people I feel the R3000 per day is steep and if only two people are there I think a daily rate of R2000 would be fair for two people.
Beautiful Rockwood Farm Cottage - we will be back!
The Farm Cottage is beautiful inside; and set in the most idyllic location. There is something for everyone to do - fishing, hiking, relaxing. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. I cannot recommend it more!
A magical stay at Rockwood Forest Lodge
We had a truly special 6 night stay at Rockwood Forest Lodge. The service was excellent and there was nothing that was not thought of. The lodge is charming with a gorgeous deck overlooking a stream surrounded by indigenous trees. The beds were really comfortable (especially after our days spent hiking, fishing and cycling). There was lovely jungle gym in the garden that our children loved - especially the zip line! The house is self catering but all the little things you might forget (sugar, salt, paper towels etc.) were thoughtfully supplied. There is not any internet to speak of at the lodge itself and this helped us appreciate the idyllic setting and really enjoy the stay. We were also treated to snow fall during our stay which made the holiday just that little bit extra special. We will definitely return.
Peace in the trees
isolated piece of paradise amongst the trees. Sound advice that a 4x4 is needed to get there. Would love to spend more time exploring the surrounding forests. Plenty of firewood for the cold winters evenings.
Rock'on at Rockwood
Another sterling stay at the gorgeous Rockwood Farm House. There have been some internal decor upgrades since we were last here +/-2 years ago, so its still looking clean, crisp and modern.
Sue the new on-site manager (she has been managing the place for 6 months) could not have be more lovely and helpful.
The natural surroundings never disappoint and enough firewood to satisfy any pyromanic.
We will be back for sure!!!
Idyllic Getaway Rockwood Forest Lodge
What an amazing 3 days. The lodge is so well equipped that we wanted for nothing (except perhaps a bit more fridge space) and the location is amazing. No other people anywhere nearby, a stream with natural pool in front of the lodge, beautiful trees to keep the place cool, lovely walks and good cycle paths. So wonderful to get completely back to nature. Thank you.
This was a special trip for me and my son as my late husband had taken him there a few years back and he remembered it so vividly at 3.5 yrs old. It was as beautiful as my late husband described it...we had a wonderful time and all the staff were friendly and helpful.
Rockwood Farm House
We were upgraded from the Farm Cottage due to an electrical fault and stayed in the Farm House which was palatial! We had a very relaxed and pleasant stay despite the crazy weather extremes. The kids so enjoyed paddling on the dam and we tackled walks to all the waterfalls and managed a short cycle on our last day before the heavens opened. The little extras like the rusks and muesli were a real treat. Zama, the domestic was exceptional! A few maintenance issues required attention but on the whole a super experience.
